Lot is a listing composer for people selling second-hand items. It is published by Arick Sandman, an individual developer. This policy explains exactly what the app does with your information, which is very little.
Lot works by calling Google's Gemini API using a key that you obtain yourself from Google AI Studio. That key is stored in the app's private storage on your device and is never transmitted anywhere except to Google's API endpoint, in a request header, over HTTPS. The developer never sees it and has no way to see it.
Free-tier keys carry a term you should know about. If your key is on Google's free tier, Google may use the content you send — your photographs, your typed notes and your voice recordings — to improve its products, and human reviewers may see or hear some of it. That term comes from Google and applies to anything sent with a free key, in Lot or in any other app. Paid Gemini keys do not carry it. If you intend to dictate anything you would not want reviewed, use a paid key. Lot says the same thing on the screen where you enter the key.
Photographs you add to a lot are copied into the app's private storage. Catalogue cards, measurements and your own notes are written to plain JSON files in that same private storage. None of this is sent anywhere except as described under What is sent to Google and Android backup below.
Lot can take a note by voice instead of typing. The microphone is used only while you are holding a dictation open — never in the background, never on a schedule, and never without you starting it. If you never tap the dictate control, the permission is never requested and the microphone is never opened.
A recording is written to a temporary file on your device, sent to Google's Gemini API to be written down, and then deleted from your device whether the transcription succeeded or failed. Only one recording exists at a time. The developer never receives the audio and has no way to.
Because the recording is sent to Google to be transcribed, audio is shared with a third party and is not processed ephemerally — on a free-tier key it may be retained and reviewed by Google as described above. Lot's Google Play Data Safety listing says exactly that.
The words that come back are placed in an editable text field for you to read and correct. They are not used for anything until you choose to act on them.
Data is transmitted only when you deliberately start an operation:
Nothing is sent in the background, on a schedule, or on app launch. Your use of Google's API is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy, not by this one. Marketplace packs, character counts, disclosure lines and the condition sheet are all generated on your device and involve no network use at all.
The Studio places an item on a clean background. It does this entirely on your device, using Google Play services' on-device subject segmentation to cut the item out of your own photograph and composite it onto a drawn backdrop. No image is uploaded, no image is generated, and no key or quota is used. Every pixel of the item in the result is a pixel of your original photograph, so the Studio cannot alter the thing you are selling.
The written parts of a listing — the title, the description, the marketplace copy, the condition notes and the price band — are produced by Google's model from your photographs and notes. Model output is never guaranteed to be correct. Read it before you publish it, and keep at least one unedited photograph in any listing.

Lot offers a single one-time in-app purchase that removes the free-lot limit. The transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. The developer receives no payment card details and no personally identifying information from it. The app stores only a local flag recording that the purchase was made.
Lot requests two permissions and no others:
INTERNET — to reach Google's Gemini API and Google Play Billing.RECORD_AUDIO — for dictation. It is requested the first time you
tap the dictate control, not at install, and never if you don't use the feature.Lot does not request camera or storage permissions. Photographs are taken and chosen through the Android system camera and the system photo picker, which hand back only the specific images you select.
Android's own backup service, if you have it switched on, copies app data to your Google account so a new phone can restore it. For Lot that includes your lot cards and the photographs attached to them. This is Google's backup of your data into your own account, not a transfer to the developer, and it is encrypted with your device credentials.
Your API key is deliberately excluded from cloud backup. A key belongs on the device it was entered on, so it is never copied to Google Drive. It is kept during a direct phone-to-phone transfer, where the data goes straight to your new handset, so upgrading a device does not mean typing the key again.
You can turn Android backup off entirely in Android Settings, under Google › Backup.
Lot is a tool for resellers and is not directed at children under 13. No age information is collected.
Deleting a lot inside the app removes its card and every photograph attached to it. Uninstalling the app removes everything, including the stored API key. Because nothing is held on a server of the developer's, there is nothing further to request deletion of.
If Android backup is on, a copy of your lots may remain in your Google account after uninstalling. Clear it from Android Settings under Google › Backup, or from Google Drive under Backups. To remove content Google may hold from your API requests, use the controls in your Google account and in Google AI Studio.
