Privacy Policy

Windage is a ballistic solver that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with information.

What Windage collects

Nothing. Windage does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There is no account to create, no sign-in, no analytics package, no advertising library, and no crash-reporting service.

What stays on your device

The rifle profiles you create — names, ballistic coefficients, muzzle velocities, zero ranges and similar load data — along with your unit preferences, are stored only in the app's private storage on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling Windage deletes them.

Temperature, pressure, humidity, wind and target range are held for the session only and are never saved at all.

Android backup

Android can copy an app's data to your Google Drive automatically. Windage excludes its stored data from that backup, so your rifle profiles never reach Drive. Your one-time unlock is not backed up either, and does not need to be — Google Play restores it on any device you sign in to.

Android's direct handset-to-handset transfer is deliberately left switched on, so moving to a new phone carries your profiles across with everything else. That transfer runs between the two devices.

Purchases

The one-time unlock is sold through Google Play's billing system. When you buy it, Google processes the transaction and tells Windage only whether the unlock is owned by your Google account. The app never sees your name, email address, or payment details. Google's handling of that transaction is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Network access

Windage declares internet access solely so the Google Play billing client can reach the Play Store to complete and verify a purchase. The solver, the rifle profiles, the dope table, and every other feature work with no connection at all.

Permissions

Windage requests one Android permission, and only one:

• INTERNET — so the Google Play billing client can reach the Play Store.

It does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or any other permission.

Children

Windage is a technical tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new date at the top. Windage's behaviour and this page are updated together, so what you read here is what the shipped app does.
